Thawing out Hollywood's cold slump at the weekend box office, Frozen 2 [FROZ2] debuted to an estimated $127.0 million, the fifth highest November opening of all times. Frozen 2 topped the previous $70.4 million record for an animated film set by The Incredibles. Families made up 79% of the audience, which was 60% female.
Last weekend's champ, Ford v Ferrari [FOVFE] finished second at $16.0 million, down 49% in its second weekend. The racing drama has totaled $57.0 million.
A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood [YAMFR] opened at the third spot with $13.5 million. The drama appealed to an audience that was 54% female and 83% aged 25 and older.
21 Bridges [17BRD] earned $9.2 million to debut in fourth place. The actioner connected with a crowd that was 50% male, and 75% over the age of 25.
Midway [MDWAY] rounded out the top five with $4.7 million and $43.1 million after 3 weekends.
Playing with Fire [PLWFR] added another $4.6 million to bring its total to $31.6 million.
Staying in seventh place, The Good Liar [GLIAR] held 60% of its opening for a sophomore session at $3.4 million.
Charlie's Angles [CHAR3] dropped 62% from its debut to $3.2 million and eighth overall.
