First trailer for Leap Year

Why does every romantic comedy trailer insist on showing you the whole movie?  Leap Year [LEPYR] is no exception.  Amy Adams [AMADA] plays a woman who travels to Ireland in order to propose to her non-committal boyfriend on February 29th, when by Irish tradition he must accept.   If that flimsy set up is the story, then why end the trailer with the boyfriend proposing to her?   We already know she's gonna end up with Matthew Goode [MTGOO], the guy she's been fighting cute with for the entire trailer.

Honestly, the cute premise and Amy Adams is all it would take to get people (women, mostly) into the theatres. WHY do they have to do a three minute summary of the beginning, middle, and end in trailers? Is it because this generation has no interest in
