How to Lose Friends and Alienate People takes a look behind the scenes of a major magazine. The film is based on the memoir of Toby Young, a Brit writer who became a contributing editor at Vanity Fair magazine. He makes fun of himself trying to impress major celebrities and models, but also paints a scathing picture of his boss, Editor-in-Chief Graydon Carter. Robert B. Weide directed from Peter Vaughan's adapted script.
