Greek Gods and Snow White offered no competition for Katniss Everdeen as The Hunger Games [HGAME] earned an estimated $61.1 million to retain first place at the weekend box office. The sci-fi adaptation of the young adult novel dropped 60% in its second weekend, bringing its 10-day total to $251.0 million.
Wrath of the Titans [CLSH2] debuted in second place with $34.2 million. The fantasy sequel attracted an audience that was two-thirds male and 55% over the age of 25.
Mirror Mirror [SNOWH] opened at the third spot with $19.0 million. 60% of the audience were families with young children.
21 Jump Street [21JST] took in another $15.0 million to advance its total to $93.1 million.
Expanding to 483 theaters, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen [SFYEM] banked $1.3 million for seventh overall.
