Capturing an estimated $65.0 million to lead the weekend box office, The Amazing Spider-Man [SPID4] has spun $140 million since opening on Tuesday. One reason for the franchise reboot was to reconnect with families and successfully did with 25% of the audience. Demographics were evenly split between those above and those under the age of 25, while skewing males at 58%.
Last weekend's top film, Ted [TED] declined just 40% in its second weekend to $32.6 million. The R-rated comedy hit of the summer has already stashed $120.2 million.
Brave [BRAVE] finished third at $20.2 million to bring its total to $174.5 million after 3 weekends.
Savages [SAVAG] grossed $16.2 million to open in fourth place. The action thriller attracted an older crowded with 61% of the audience over the age of 30 and slightly more female at 51%.
Katy Perry: Part of Me [KP3D] debuted eighth with $7.2 million. As expected, the audience was 80% female and 72% younger than 25. The concert film has earned $10.3 million since opening on Thursday.
Expanding wide to 806 theaters, To Rome With Love [RMWLV] brought home $3.5 million.
