Topping the weekend box office easily with an estimated $64.0 million, The Dark Knight Rises [BATM3] nevertheless tumbled 60% from its debut. Despite beating The Dark Knight in its opening weekend, the third film has fallen behind the pace of its predecessor at $289.1 million over 10 days.
Ice Age: Continental Drift [ICEA4] banked $13.3 million to remain second overall, bringing its total to $114.8 million.
The Watch [NEIBW] bombed with a $13.0 million opening in third place. The comedy attracted an audience that was 60% male and 60% over the age of 25.
Step Up Revolution [STUP4] debuted fourth at $11.8 million. The fourth installment in the dance franchise skewed young females.
