The aftermath of hurricane Sandy did not put a damper on the weekend box office as Wreck-It Ralph [RALPH] punched out an estimated $49.1 million to kick off the holiday movie season. The CG animated film set in the world of video games brought out mostly families who made up 68% of the audience.
Flight [FLIGH] debuted in second place with a stellar $25.0 million from just 1900 theaters. The Denzel Washington drama attracted a crowd that was 90% over the age of 25.
Last weekend's top film Argo [ARGO] dropped back to third plae with $10.2 million. The hostage thriller has banked $75.9 million after 4 weekends.
The Man with the Iron Fists [TMWIF] smashed $8.2 million to open in fourth place. The kung fu flick skewed male.
Cloud Atlas [CLATL] decline 45% in its second session to $5.3 million, while Silent Hill: Revelation [SHIL2] tumbled 59% to $3.3 million.
