Leading the weekend box office by a comfortable margin, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters [HNGWH] earned an estimated $19.0 million. The R-rated action retelling of the fairy tale attracted an audience that was 55% male and 57% over 25.
Last weekend's top film, Mama [MAMA] dropped 55% to $12.9 million and second place. The horror film has already brought home $48.6 million.
Parker [PARKR] debuted in fifth place at just $7.0 million. The opening is Jason Statham's lowest since 2009's Crank: High Voltage.
Even an all-star cast couldn't attract an audience as Movie 43 [MOV43] bombed with $5.0 million to open seventh overall.
