With two new releases stalling and last weekend's openers free-falling, Identity Thief [IDTHF] reclaimed the top spot with an estimated $14.1 million. The breakout comedy hit has netted $93.7 million.
Dwyane Johnson opened Snitch [SNITC] at second place with $13.0 million. The actioner utilized its PG-13 rating to better his last solo outing Faster as well as other recent R-rated action vehicles.
Escape From Planet Earth [ESCPE] moved up a notch to third with $11.0 million. The animated film held the best out of last weekend's new releases at 31% in bringing its running total to $35.1 million.
Safe Haven [SAFHV] dropped 50% to $10.6 million, while the reigning champion A Good Day to Die Hard [DIEH5] tumbled 60% to $10.0 million and the fifth spot.
Dark Skies [DRKSK] debuted sixth overall with $8.9 million.
