Showing little signs of a nearly year-long postponement, the action sequel G.I. JOE: Retaliation [GIJO2] muscled its way to the top of the weekend box office with an estimated $41.2 million. JOE: Retaliation, which also earned $10.5 million on Thursday.
Last weekend's top film The Croods [CROOD] finished second with $26.5 million, down 39%. The animated comedy has accumulated $88.6 million.
Tyler Perry's Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor [TMRGC] debuted in third place with $22.3 million. The romance brought out a crowd that was 70% female and 79% over the age of 25.
Olympus Has Fallen [OLYHF] declined 54% in its second weekend to $14.0 million for the fourth spot. The action thriller has banked $54.7 million.
