Emily Blunt [EBLUN] first made her mark as the frazzled assistant Emily in the contemporary fashion piece The Devil Wears Prada. The British actress now stars in another costume drama, one of an older era as The Young Victoria [YVICT]. Victoria became Queen of the United Kingdom at the age of 18 and went on to reign for 63 years and 7 months, the longest of any British monarch. The period biopic chronicles the court intrigue during her early years as well as her romance with Prince Albert, played by Rupert Friend [RFRIE], who became her husband. Judi Dench previously protrayed the Queen after his early death in 1997's Mrs. Brown and earned an Oscar nomination. Playing Queen Elizabeth garnered Cate Blanchett two Oscar nominations, while starring as Queen Elizabeth II won Helen Mirren her Oscar. Will Blunt be similarily honored?
Apparition will open The Young Victoria in the U.S. on December 18.
