Wrapping up the summer as the season's top film, Guardians of the Galaxy topped the 4-day holiday weekend box office with an estimated $22.2 million. The space adventure has banked $280.5 million after 5 weeks.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles [TMNT1] remained in second with $15.7 million to bring its total to $166.4 million.
Sophomore pic If I Stay [ISTAY] grossed $11.6 million in its second weekend to finishe third ahead of Let's Be Cops [LBCOP] at $10.6 million.
As Above, So Below [AASB] debuted in fifth place with $10.3 million over the long weekend. The horror film attracted an audience that was 65% under the age of 25 and evenly split between the sexes.
The November Man [NOVMN] opend at the sixth spot with $10.2 million from Friday to Monday and $11.9 million since Wednesday. The spy thriller brought out older moviegoers with 85% over the age of 25.
Opening in 382 theaters, the Spanish-language Cantiflas [CANTI] grossed $3.3 million to chart at number 12.
