Shelling out an estimated $23.5 million, the WWII tank actioner Fury [FURY] debuted atop the weekend box office. The Brad Pitt starrer attracted an audience that was 60% male and 51% over the age of 35.
After two weeks in first, Gone Girl [GONEG] slipped a spot with another $17.8 million. The marital thriller has banked $107.1 million.
The Book of Life [BOLIF] opened in third place at $17.0 million. THe animated fantasy drew a crowd that was 30% Latinos, 57% female and 54% under the age of 25.
Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day [ATHNG] finished fourth with $12.0 million, down34% in its second weekend. The family film stands at $36.9 million.
The Best of Me [BESME] took in $10.2 million to open fifth overall. The debut is a new low for a Nicholas Sparks adaptation.
Dracula Untold [DRCYZ] dropped 58% in its second weekend to $9.9 million, bringing its total to $40.7 million.
