Some in Hollywood may lose more than an hour of sleep as the box office continue to tank. Chappie [CHAPI] tops the weekend with an estimated $13.3 million. Moviergoers for the sci-fi flick were 60% male and 57% under the age of 30.
Last weeknd's top film Focus [FOCUZ] slid 46% to $10.0 million and second place. The romantic caper has swiped $34.6 million.
The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel [BEMH2] opened at the third spot with $8.6 million. The sequel skewed 81% female and 60% over the age of 55.
Unfinished Business [BSTRP] completely flopped with just $4.8 million for 10th overall. The comedy drew 55% male and 54% over 25.
