DreamWorks Animation finally got out of its slump in a huge way as Home [SMEKD] hit an estimated $54.0 million to top the weekend box office. The debut is DWA's biggest since Madagascar 3: Most Wanted opened at $60.3 million in 2012. The musical will be the only animated film for the next two months.
Get Hard [GHARD] locked up $34.6 million to debut in second place. The controversial comedy drew a crowd that was 54% male and 61% over the age of 25.
Last weekend' champ Insurgent [DVRG2] tumbled 58% to $22.0 million and the third spot. The Divergent sequel has earned $86.4 million.
Cinderella [CINDE] took in another $17.5 million to bring its total across $150.0 million.
It Follows [ITFLW] jumped up to fifth in its wide expansion with $4.0 million.
