As all five new wide releases tanked at the box office, The Martian [MARTN] retook the top spot with an estimated $15.9 million in its fourth weekend. The sci-fi film has advanced $166.4 million.
Goosebumps [GBUMP] was dethroned to second with $15.5 million. The family film slid 34% from its debut to bring its total to $43.7 million.
Bridge of Spies [CLDWR] stayed in third place with $11.4 million, down just 26% from its opening. The Cold War thriller stands at $32.6 million.
Vin Diesel opened The Last Witch Hunter [TLWH] to fourth with $10.8 million.
Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimenion [PNAC5] found $8.2 million to finish sixth overall.
In its expansion to wide release, Steve Jobs [SJOBS] managed only $7.3 million.
Rock the Kasbah [KASBA] bombed miserably at $1.5 million. Jem and the Holograms [JEMHG] failed even worse at $1.3 million.
