Tallying an estimated $73.0 million at the weekend box office, the latest Bond film Spectre [JB24] scored the second highest opening for the 007 franchise behind Skyfall's $88.4 million. Spectre skewed male at 62% and skewed older, with 75% over the age of 25.
The Peanuts Movie [PENUT] debuted in second place with $45.0 million. Families made up 70% of the audience, which was 55% female.
Dropping to third place, The Martian added $9.3 million to bring its total to $197.1 million.
Burnt [ADAMJ] declined 40% in its second weekend to $3.0 million and seventhh overall.
