Raising the all time domestic box office record to $812.0 million, Star Wars: The Force Awakens [STAR7] stayed in first place for a fourth weekend with an estimated $41.6 million.
The Revenant [REVEN] open wide with $38.0 million for the second spot. The audience was 57% male and 73% over the age of 25. As a top Oscar contender, the western should have strong legs.
Daddy's Home [DHOME] finished third at $15.0 million, bringing its cumulative total to $116.3 million.
The Forest [FORST] debuted at the fourth spot with $13.1 million.
Rounding out the top five, Sisters [TNEST] earned $7.2 million to push its sum to $73.9 million.
The Hateful Eight [HATE8] tumbled 60% to $6.4 million in its second weekend of wide release.
