Star Wars: The Force Awakens [STAR7.BW] finished second with $14.3 million, bringing its total to $879.3 million.
Last weekend's champ, Ride Along 2 [RDLO2] declined to third with nealy $13.0 million. The comedy sequel has earned $59.1 million.
The Zac Efron-Robert De Niro team-up Dirty Grandpa [DRTGP] debuted in fourth place with $11.5 million.
The Boy [THBOY] grossed $11.3 million to open fifth overall. The horror film skewed 62% female and 75% under the age of 25.
The 5th Wave [5WAVE] took in $10.7 million at the sixth spot. The audience was 55% female and 62% under the age of 25.
