There's a new king of animated film in Hollywood as Pixar's Finding Dory [NEMO2] debuted an estimated $136.2 million, topping the all-time record previously held by Shrek the Third. The sequel to Finding Nemo also claims the second best opening in June after Jurassic World's $208.8 million last year. The audience was 62% female and 68% under 25, with 65% identified as part of families.
Central Intelligence opened in second place with $34.5 million. The aciton comedy drew 53% male and 53% under 25.
Last weekend's top film, The Conjuring 2 [CNJU2] slipped 62% to $15.6 million. The horror sequel has earned $71.7 million after 10 days.
Now You See Me 2 [NYSM2] finished fourth with $9.7 million, down 57% from its opening.
Warcraft [WARCF] tumbled 73% in its second weekend to $6.5 million and the fifth spot.
