Two new wide releases both opened below expectations as The Magnificent Seven [MAGN7] topped the weekend box office with an estimated $35.0 million. The western remake drew an audience that was 56% male and 67% over the age of 25.
Storks [STORK] debuted in second place with $21.8 million. The animated film skewed towards families with young childen.
After two weeks at the top, Sully [SULLY] landed in third with $13.8 million. The drama has banked $92.4 million.
Bridget Jones's Baby [BJON3] earned $4.5 million for the fourth spot. The sequel declined 47% in its second weekend to bring its total to $16.5 million.
Snowden [SNWDN] followed in fifth with $4.1 million, down 48% in its second weekend. Meanwhile, Blair Witch [WOODS] tumbled 59% in its sophomore frame to $4.0 million.
