Opening with the best debut for a Marvel superhero introduction since 2010's Iron Man, Doctoc Strange [DRSTR] brewed an estimated $85.0 million to lead the weekend box office. Males made up 58% of the audience while 57% were between the ages of 13 and 34. Moviegoers gave the an "A" CinemaScore, which could indicate better legs than Thor: The Dark World.
Trolls [TROLL] opened in second place with a robust $45.6 million. The audience was 61% female and 51% under the age of 25. The animated musical also received a CinemaScore fo "A".
Hacksaw Ridge [HSRDG] earned $14.8 million to debut at the third spot. The war film appealed to a crowd that was evenly split between the sexes and 68% age 35 and older.
After two weeks at the top, Boo! A Madea Halloween [BOAMH] finished fourth with $7.8 million. The comedy has banked nearly $65.0 million.
Inferno [NFERN] tumbled 58% in its second weekend to $6.3 million.
