As part of its worldwide record-setting opening weekend, The Fate of the Furious [FAST8] banked an estimated $100.2 million domestically. The debut is second best for the series behind Furious 7. The sequel attracted an audience that was 58% male and 50% under the age of 25.
The Boss Baby [BOSSB] slipped to second place with $15.5 million. The animated family film has grossed $116.3 million.
Beauty and the Beast [BTATB.BW] was third in its fifth weekend with $13.6 million, bringing its total to $454.6 million.
Smurfs: The Lost Village [SMRF3] dropped 51% in its second weekend to $6.5 million and the fourth spot.
Going in Style [GOINS] took fifth with $6.4 million, down 47% from its opening weekend.
Expanding wide in its second weekend, Gifted [GIFTD] grabbed $3.0 million for sixth overall.
