After a close fight on Friday, the weekend box office tilted towards reigning champ Dunkirk [DUNKR], which prevailed with an estimated $28.1 million. The war film slipped 44% in its second weekend to bring its total to $102.8 million.
Despite poor reviews, The Emoji Movie [EMOJI] debuetd in second place with $25.7 million. The animated film drew an audience that was 52% female and 64% under the age of 25.
Girls Trip [GIRLT] finished third with $20.1 million, down just 36% from its opening weekend. The R-rated comedy has banked $65.5 million.
Atomic Blonde [CLDCT] took in $18.6 million to open at the fourth spot. The R-rated actioner attracted an audience that was 51% male and 62% over the age of 25.
Spider-Man: Homecoming [SPID6] rounded out the top five with $13.5 million, bringing its total to $278.3 million.
Valerian [VALER] dropped 60% in its second weekend to $6.8 million and eighth overall.
