Reviving the box office after a dead August and blowing past all expectations, It [IT1] consumed an estimated $117.2 million. The debut sets new records for largest opening for September, fall and horror genre. The audience was 51% female and 65% over the age of 25.
Home Again [HMAGN] opened in second place with $9.0 million.
The Hitman's Bodyguard [HTMBG] finished third at $4.9 million, bringing its total to $64.9 million.
Wind River [WNDRV] took fifth place with $3.2 million and $25.0 million overall.
