Blumhouse has another number one hit at the weekend box office as Happy Death Day [HTDTH] opened with an estimated $26.5 million. The PG-13 rated horror attracted an audience that was 54% female and 65% under the age of 25.
Last weekend's champ Blade Runner 2049 [BLAD2] slipped to second with $15.1 million, dropping 54% from its debut. The sci-fi sequel has banked $60.6 million.
The Foreigner [FRGNR] earned $12.8 million to open in third palce. The actioner skewed 59% male.
The Mountain Between Us [TMBUS] finished fifth with 5.7 million, down 46% in its second weekend to bring its total to $20.5 million.
My Little Pony: The Movie [MLPNY] tumbled 55% to $4.0 million in its sophomore weekend and $15.5 million to date.
Marshall [MARSH] debuted eleventh overall with $3.0 million. Professor Marston & The Wonder WOmen [PMTWW] bombed with a $0.7 million opening outside the top 12.
