Delivering the largest opening out of the three-film franchise, Thor: Ragnarok [THOR3] topped the weekend box office with $121.0 million. The debut is also the seventh highest in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, just ahead of $117 million from Spider-Man: Homecoming earlier this year. The God of Thunder drew a crowd that was 56% male and 63% over the age of 25.
A Bad Moms Christmas [BADM2] debuted in second place with $17.0 million and $21.5 million since opening on Wednesday. The sequel skewed 82% female and 87% over the age of 25.
Last weekend's champ Jigsaw [SAW8] dropped 60% to $6.7 million and third overall. The horror film has locked up $28.8 million.
Boo2! A Madea's Halloween [BOAM2] finished fourth with $4.7 million, bringing its total to nearly $43.0 million.
Geostorm [GEOST] rounded out the top five at $3.0 million. The disaster film has accumulated $28.8 million.
Opening in 659 theaters, LBJ [LBJ] tallied $1.1 million to end up outside the top 12.
