Insteading of soaring to new heights with its superheroes team-up, Justice League [JLEAG] fell to new depths with an estimated $96.0 million to top the weekend box office. The opening is the lowest amongst the DC superhero films from this iteration: Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman, which had the previous low at $103 million. Female moviegoerswho powered Wonder Woman stayed away as Justice League skewed 58% males and 69% over the age of 25.
Wonder [WONDE] debuted in second place with a better than anticipated $27.1 million. The family-friendly film drew 68% female and 66% over the age of 25.
After 2 weeks at the top, Thor: Ragnarok [THOR3] fell to third with $21.7 million, bringing its sum to $247.4 million.
Daddy's Home 2 [DDHM2] declined 50% its second weekend to $14.8 million and the fourth spot.
Murder on the Orient Express [MOTOE] decayed 52% from its debut to $13.8 million and fifth overall.
The Star [TLAMB] opened in sixth place with $10.0 million. The animated Nativity Story should enjoy long holiday legs.
In its third weekend of limited release, Lady Bird [LADYB] banked $2.5 million to move up to the eighth position.
