Despite a flurry of new releases over the Christmas holiday, Star Wars: The Last Jedi [STAR8] banked an estimated $100.7 million over the 4-day weekend to remain atop the weekend box office. The sequel has tallied $397.3 million in 11 days.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle [JUMNJ] debuted in second place at $50.4 million, and $67.0 million since opening on Wednesday.
Pitch Perfect 3 [PTCP3] charted at the third spot with $25.6 million over the holiday weekend.
The Greatest Showman [TGSOE] opened fourth overall at $14.0 million and $18.6 million since Wednesday.
Ferdinand [FERDN] rounded out the top five with $9.7 million, bringing its total to $29.2 million.
Downsizing [DWNSZ] grossed $7.3 million to debut at the seventh spot.
Expanding to wide release, Darkest Hour [DARKH] earned $5.4 million for eighth place.
Father Figure [BASTR] bombed with only $4.9 million in its debut.
The Shape of Water [SHPWT] netted $4.3 million in its wide expansion.
