12 Strong [HORSO] opened in second place with $16.5 million. The war film attracted an audience that was 55% male and 79% over the age of 25.
Den of Thieves [DENOT] debuted third overall with $15.3 million. The heist film skewed 60% male and 30% African-Americans.
The Post [TPOST] declined 37% in its second wide weekend to $12.2 million and fourth place.
Paddington 2 [PADT2] slipped just 25% from its opening to $8.2 million, while The Commuter [COMUT] fell 51% to $6.7 million.
Forever My Girl opened at the tenth spot at $4.7 million. The romance drew 78% female and 64% over the age of 25.
Expanding to 897 theaters, Phantom Thread [PHTHD] took in $3.4 million to round out the top 12.
