Disney cannibalized one of its own at the box office as Black Panther [BPNTH] reigned for a fourth straight weekend with an estimated $41.1 million, while A Wrinkle in Time [AWITM] disappointed with a $33.3 million debut. The Marvel superhero has banked $562 million.
A Wrinkle in Time attracted an audience that was 60% female and 57% under the age of 25.
The Strangers: Prey at Night [STRN2] opened in third place with $10.2 million. The horror sequel drew 53% male and 52% under 25.
Red Sparrow [RSPRW] dropped 52% in its second weekend to $8.2 million while Death Wish [DWISH] dclined 49% to $6.6 million in its second weekend.
The Hurricane Heist [CATG5] took in $3.2 million to debut at the eighth spot. The actioner skewed 55% male and 73% over the age of 25.
Gringo [AMEXP] bombed with just $2.6 million to place outside the top 10.
