Landing the fifth highest opening weekend for Easter, Ready Player One [RDYP1] tops the box office with an estimated $41.2 million and $53.2 million since Thursday. The sci-fi adaptation drew an audience that was 59% male and 56% over the age of 25.
Tyler Perry's Acrimony [SLMLF] debuted in second place with $17.1 million. The thriller skewed74% female and 85% over the age of 25.
Last weekend's champion Pacific Rim: Uprising [PACR2] tumbled 67% in its second outing to $9.2 million and fifth overall. The total stands at $45.7 million.
Sherlock Gnomes [GNOM2] finished sixth with $7.0 million, down 34% from its debut weekend. The animated sequel has earned $22.8 million.
God's Not Dead: A Light in Darkness [GODN3] gathered just $2.6 million to open at the twefth spot.
