Cementing his status as a box office draw, Dwayne Johnson opened Rampage [RAMPG] at the top spot with an estimated $34.5 million. The sci-fi actioner attracted an audience that was 55% male and 63% over the age of 25.
A Quiet Place [AQPLC] slipped to second place with $32.6 million, down just 35% from its debut. THe horror film has already banked $99.6 million.
Truth or Dare [TRUOD] opened at the third spot with $19.1 million. As expected, the horror film skewed 60% female and 60% under the age of 25.
Ready Player One [RDYP1] took fourth at $11.2 million, bringing its total to $114.6 million.
Blockers [TPACT] dropped 50% in its second weekend to $10.3 million and fifth overall. The comedy has earned $36.9 million.
Expanding to wide release, Isle of Dogs [ISLDG] moved up to seventh place with $5.0 million. Its cumulative gross sits at $18.5 million.
Beirut [HWACT] and Sgt. Stubby: An Amercain Hero [STUBY] both opened outside the top 12 at $1.7 million and $1.1 million, respectively.
