Demonstarting the box office power of representation, Crazy Rich Asians [CRASN] led the weekend with an estimated $25.2 million, and $34.0 million during its first five days. The romantic comedy skewed 68% female and 66% over the age of 25. Asians made up 38% of the audience.
The Meg [MEG] was knocked off to second with $21.2 million, down 53% from its debut. The shark film has chewed up $83.8 million.
Mile 22 [MIL22] opened in third place with $13.6 million. The actioner drew 60% male and 73% over the age of 25.
Alpha [SOLUT] gathered $10.5 million to debut at the fourth spot. The audience was 56% male and 41% 25 years or older.
BlacKkKlansman [BLKKM] declined just 35% in its second weekend to $7.0 million and seventh overall, while Slender Man [SLNDR] dropped 56% to nearly $5.0 million.
