With only one new film in the typically slow weekend after Thanksgiving, Ralph Breaks the Internet [RALP2] will surf to another victory at the box office while three other leftovers jockey for the second position. Coco slipped 46% from its debut last year, while Moana dropped 50% in 2016. Ralph Break the Internet will likely to be more front-loaded as a sequel and decay 52% to around $27 million.
Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch [HTGSC] is poised to cross the $200 million milestone with a fourth weekend around $19 million.
Creed II [CREE2] looks to drop 50% in the second round to about $17 million, which should be enough to stay ahead of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald [FBST2] at around $16 million.
The Possession of Hannah Grace [CADVR] is the weekend’s lone new release. Sony only slotted the R-rated horror and released its trailer last month. With little buzz, The Possession of Hannah Grace may uncover $3.5 million from 2065 locations.
That’s the whisper on the virtual trading floor.
