The sluggish year at the box office continues as all four new releases dissappointed led by an estimated $34.0 million from The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part [LEGO2]. The opening is down more than 50% from The LEGO Movie's $69 million.
What Men Want [WMENW] debuted in second place with $19.0 million. African-Americans made up 41% of the audience, which was 62% female and 67% over the age 25.
Cold Pursuit [HPWDR] drove in $10.8 million to open at the third spot. The actioner drew an audience that was 58% male with 79% aged 25 or older.
After 3 weeks at the top, Glass [GLASS] finished fifth at $6.4 million. The trilogy wrap-up has banked $98.5 million.
The Prodigy [PRDGY] opened sixth overall with $6.0 million. The horror fans were 54% male with 61% aged 25 or older.
Rounding out the top 10, Miss Bala [MISSB] dropped 60% in its second weekend to $2.7 million.
