After setting the record books on fire during its opening, Avengers: Endgame [AVNG4] looks to continue to roll over the competition as it targets the second weekend mark held by Star Wars: The Force Awakens's $149.2 million. Avengers: Infinity War fell 56% in its sophomore frame a year ago. Avengers: Endgame is likely to drop slightly more at 58% to $150 million and shoot pass the $600 million milestone in just 10 days.
Seth Rogen [SROGE] and Charlize Theron [CTHER] pair up in the R-rated romantic comedy Long Shot [FLRSK]. Summit premiered the film at the SXSW to positive buzz and reviews. However, Endgame will still be the first choice of most moviegoers. Dropping in 3230 theaters, Long Shot could hit $13 million.
Sony Screen Gems targets urban moviegoers with PG-13 rated thriller The Intruder [NTRDR]. Their last similar release When the Bough Breaks made $14.2 million in September 2016. Entering into 2222 theaters, The Intruder may take in $12.5 million.
STX lined up a host of musical stars to voice their first animated film UglyDolls [UGLYD]. Based on a line of plush toys, the PG-rated film is likely to appeal to only families with children. Stuffed in 3652 theaters, UglyDolls could grab $11 million.
Briarcliff targets Hispanic moviegoers with El Chicano [CHCNO]. The R-rated actioner could earn $1.5 million from 605 locations.
