Universal topped the weekend box office with its spin-off Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw [FAFHS] though its estimated $60.8 million opening fell short of 2017's Fate of the Furious' $98 million debut. The audience trended 58% male and 57% over the age of 25.
The Lion King [LIONK] was dethroned to second place at $38.2 million, and $430.9 million after three weekends.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood [MFMLY] took third with $20.0 million, down 51% from its opening weekend. The Tarantino flick has earned $78.8 million.
Expanding to 409 theaters, The Farewell [TFRWL] rose up to seventh place with $2.4 million, bringing its total to $6.8 million.
Crawl [CRAWL] finished its fourth weekend in eighth place with $2.2 million and $36.1 million overall.
