Disney will continue to feast on the long holiday weekend with Frozen II [FROZ2]. The animated musical sequel has a chance to have the best Thanksgiving ever of $74.2 million 3-day and $109.9 million 5-day set by The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Frozen II could gobble up at least $105 million from Wednesday to Sunday.
Daniel Craig leads an all-star cast in the mystery Knives Out [KNIVS]. Writer-director Rian Johnson’s follow-up to The Last Jedi has earned rave reviews and Lionsgate is getting the word of mouth out early. The PG-13 rated film banked $2 million in previews last weekend, and another $1.7 million Tuesday night. Showing in 3461 theaters, Knives Out may crave out $35 million over the holiday weekend.
Ford v Ferrari [FOVFE] looks to finish its third turn at $14 million, ahead of A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood [YAMFR] with about $12 million over the 5-day weekend.
Universal targets African-Americans with Queen & Slim [QNSLM] starring Daniel Kaluuya. The R-rated drama has excellent buzz and positive reviews. Playing in 1690 theaters, Queen & Slim could take away $11 million through Sunday.
