2019 closes out with its last weekend topped by Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker [STAR9] with an estimated $72.0 million. The sequel declined 59% in its second weekend, bringing its total to $361.8 million.
Jumanji: The Next Level [JUMN2] scored $35.3 million to stay at number two. The sequel sits at $175.5 million after 3 weekends.
Little Women [LTLWM] debut in third place with $16.5 million and $29.0 million since opening on Christmas Day. The audience skewed 70% female and 71% aged 25 or older.
Spies in Disguise [PIGEN] opend at the fifth spot with $13.2 million and $22.1 million since Christmas Day. THe animated film attracted a crowd that was 54% female and 60% under the age of 25.
Uncut Gems [UNCUT] sparkled to $9.6 million in its expansion to wide release. The Adam Sandler vehicle has already parked $20 million.
Cats [CATS] held 73% of its debut to finish eighth with $4.8 million. The musical has scratched out $17.8 million.
Bombshell [FAIRB] took ninth with $4.7 million, down just 7% from last weekend. The drama has totaled $15.6 million.
