The 92nd Academy Awards ceremony ended with a surprising upset as Parasite became the first foreign-language film to win Best Picture. Bong Jong Ho accepted four Oscars in all, which led the night for all films, as well as tied Walt Disney for taking home the most Oscar Statuettes in one night. The Hollywood Stock Exchange offered AwadOptions for the nominees in the top eight categories and HSX traders collectively predicted six of the winners.
The Oscar for Best Picture went to Parasite [A0PPAR], which was the second favorite of HSX to 1917. Bong Jong Ho – Parasite [A0DBJH] won Best Director in another upset over HSX first choice Sam Mendes – 1917.
HSX correctly forecasted all four acting winners: Jaoquin Phoenix - Joker [A0AJPH] for Best Actor, and Renee Zellweger - Judy [A0CRZE] for Best Actress, Brad Pitt – Once Upon a Time in Hollywood [A0RBPI] for Best Supporting Actor and Laura Dern – Marriage Story [A0SLDE] for Best Supporting Actress.
