Americans finally found out over the weekend they have elected Joe Biden [BIDEN] as the next President over Donald Trump [TRUMP]. Meanwhile, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to ravage the theatrical business. Let Him Go [LETHG] topped the weekend box office with an estimated $4.1 million. As expected, the audience skewed older at 85% over 25 with females at 52%. Universal is the only major studio still opening films wide as it is the only one with a deal with AMC theaters that allows its films to hit video-on-demand as early as 17 days after their theatrical release.
Last weekend's champ, Come Play [LARRY] finished second at $1.7 million, down 45% from its opening. The horror film has banked $5.6 million.
The War with Grandpa remained at the third spot with $1.5 million, up 19% from last weekend. The family film has earned $13.4 million.
Honest Thief [HNSTF] dropped to fourth place with $1.1 million, bringing its total to $11.2 million after four weekends.
