It's official. The Electoral College convened today to determine the next President of the United States. 538 electors gathered in their respective states to cast the electoral votes. The number of each state's electors is the sum of the state's members in the Senate and House of Representatives. Picked by state parties, electors are bound to follow the popular vote for their state. At least 270 electoral votes are required to win the U.S. Presidency.
