With movie theaters reopening in Southern California, all the films enjoyed exceptional holds. Raya and the Last Dragon [RAYAD] remained in first place for a third straight weekend with an estimated $5.2 million. The Disney animated film held 65% of its opening to advance its total to $23.4 million.
Tom & Jerry [TMJRY] held the second spot with $3.8 million in its fourth weekend, pushing its total to $33.7 million.
The Courier [IRNBK] opened in third place with $2.0 million. The spy thriller appealed to an older audience that skewed 57% males and 85% over the age of 25.
Chaos Walking [CHAOW] took in $1.9 million to finish fourth overall. The total stands at $9.7 million after three weekends.
Boogie [BOOGE] scored another $600K to bring its 3-week total across $3.3 million.
The Father [TFTHR] slipped 26% in its second weekend of wide release to $321K, which takes its total to $969K.
Expanding wide to 786 theaters after 5 weeks of limited release, Minari [MINAR] earned $306K. Nominated for 6 OScars, the drama has banked $1.4 million.
