With the big budgeted blockbusters not returning to theaters until next weekend, Spiral: From the Book of Saw [SAW9] gets to keep its box office title for a second week. Spiral may decline around 50% from its debut to $4.3 million.
Wrath of Man [VGLNC] looks to also stay in second place with a $2.5 million third weekend.
After flatlining during its opening, Those Who Wish Me Dead [TWWMD] could slip 45% in its sophomore frame to $1.5 million.
Previously set to open last May, Dream Horse [DRMHS] finally arrive this weekend. The PG-rated drama is targeted at adults who may just wait for it to hit streaming. Bleecker Street’s last release, Together Together debuted a month ago with a per theater average of $800. A similar PTA in 1256 theaters would give Dream Horse about $1.1 million.
That’s the whisper from the virtual trading floor.
