Universal finished 1-2-3 at the weekend box office led by reigning champ F9: The Fast Saga [FAST9] with an estimated $24.0 million, down 66% from its opening weekend. The sequel has fueled up $117.1 million.
The Boss Baby: Family Business [BOSS2] debuted in second place at $17.36 million. The animated sequel drew an audience that was 51% females and 64% under the age of 25.
The Forever Purge [PURG5] charted at the third spot with $12.75 million. The fifth film in the series attracted a crowd that was 52% males and 54% under 25.
Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard [HTMB2] scored another $3.0 million in its third outing to advance its total to $31.4 million.
In the Heights [INHTS] booked $1.3 million, bringing its total to $26.9 million after four weekends.
Zola [ZOLA] brought in $1.23 million over the 3-day weekend and $2.0 million since opening on Monday.
Expanding wide to 752 theaters, Summer of Soul [SUMOS] admitted just $650K.
