The third Disney film to open in theaters simultaneously with Premier Access on Disney Plus, Jungle Cruise [JUNGC] topped the weekend with an estimated $34.2 million at the box office, with an additional $30 million on Disney+. The four-quadrant film connected with an audience that was 52% male and 52% over the age of 25.
The Green Knight [GRNKN] opened in second place with $6.8 million. The fantasy skewed 62% males and 62% over 25. While critics raved, the A24 release received a C+ CinemaScore from moviegoers. Last weekend’s top film Old [OLD] aged 60% from its opening to $6.7 million. The thriller has banked $30.6 million.
Embroiled in a lawsuit over its day-n-ate release, Black Widow [BWDOW] snared another $6.4 million to advance its four-weekend total to $167.1 million.
Stillwater [STLWT] claimed the fifth spot with a $5.1 million debut. The drama attracted an audience that was 51% male and 81% over 25.
Space Jam: A New Legacy [SJAM2] scored another $4.3 million to bring its total to $60.7 million after 3 weekends.
Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins [GIJO3] fell 70% in its second weekend to $4.0 million, pushing its total to $22.3 million.
