Despite topping the weekend box office with an estimated $26.55 million, The Suicide Squad [SUIC2] bombed in comparison to the original Suicide Squad, which debuted at $133.7 million, and even the Harley Quinn-led Birds of Prey, which opened with $33.0 million. The audience that braved theaters instead of watching on HBO Max at home were 59% males and 66% over the age of 25.
Last weekend’s top attraction, Jungle Cruise [JUNGC] dropped 55% in its second frame to $15.7 million. The adventure has banked $65.3 million.
Old [OLD] finished third at $4.1 million to raise its total to $38.5 million after three weekends.
Stillwater [STLWT] declined 45% in its second weekend to $2.9 million and $10 million overall.
The Green Knight [GRNKN] tumbled 62% from its debut to $2.6 million, bringing its total to $12.2 million.
Space Jam: A New Legacy [SJAM2] dunked another $2.5 million to push its 4-weekend total to $65.6 million.
