Box Score: Shang-Chi rules the weekend again while Malignant flops

Displaying a strong hold for an entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings [SHCHI] remained atop the weekend box office with an estimated $35.8 million, down 53% from its opening. The action fantasy has already earned $145.6 million.

Free Guy [FREEG] moved back to second place with $5.8 million in its fifth weekend and $101.8 million overall.

Malignant [SLVCP] debuted at the third spot at $5.6 million. The horror film skewed 57% male and 68% over the age of 25.

Candyman [CNDYM] finished fourth with $4.8 million, bringing its total to $48.0 million after 3 weekends.

The Card Counter [CRDCT] opened in 580 theaters with $1.1 million.

Show Me the Father [SMTFT] booked $700K from 1073 locations.
