After a promising start at the box office with $9.5 million in Thursday previews, Eternals [ETRNL] settles with an estimated $71.0 million debut atop the weekend box office. The opening fell short of Disney’s own $75 million pre-release projection. Eternals received a B CinemaScore, which indicates poor word of mouth.

No Time to Die [JB25.BW] remained at the third spot with $6.2 million to bring its total to $143.2 million.
Ron’s Gone Wrong [RONGW] took in $3.6 million for a total of $17.6 million after 3 weekends.
The French Dispatch [TFRDS] booked another $2.6 million, no change from last weekend after adding 417 theaters. The Wes Anderson flick has earned $8.5 million.
Halloween Kills [HALW4] grossed $2.35 million in its fourth weekend. The horror sequel has accumulated $89.7 million.
Spencer [SPENC] debuted in eighth place with $2.15 million. The biopic skewed 62% female and 85% over 25.
Antlers [ANTLR] declined 53% in its second weekend to $2.0 million, while Last Night in Soho [LNSOH] dropped 57% to $1.8 million.
My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission [MHAWH] fared even worse, losing 75% of its debut to $1.6 million. The total sits at $9.8 million after 10 days.
